Hey Quentin, um i just have a real quick question. Im play wideout and corner in high school and i was wondering if u could send me some drills or ways i could increase my speed.I would really appreciate thanks.
By Aaron From San Diego, CA
"Give me an email adress and I could send you the work out I did when I was training for the combine."
Q, I think you guy's did a hell of a job last year at Indy. You guy's really pulled together and almost got it done. One thing I would really like to see you and the other corners do this time is hit the wr's at the line. Harrison is skinny and I would love it if you just knock him on his ass a few times. Shoot knock his head off. This in turn will throw Manning off and give #53 and #56 more time to knock him on his ass. You got the skills to be better then that chump in Denver. Speaking of Denver I would love to see you or Merriman knock Plummer out of the game. Oh, one last question who do look up to as a mentor/ leader on the Chargers??? I wish you the best man. My brother and I really back you. Keep up the good work and all I want for x-mas is a few Jammer ints. Orah!!!!!!
By Pablo From Spring Valley, CA
"Thats our game plan this week so stay tuned in to the game on sunday and thank you"
This isn't a question. I give props to you, so try not to let the other fans who give you a hard time about covering wide receivers and how you have no pics this year disturb you. Every football player who I know (college) explains that you do a good job most of the time. Hank Bauer also gives mad props to you also. I know that every DB gives up a TD, even Champ Bailey got torched against the Bengals last year (or the year before). I have faith in you.
By Chris From San Diego, CA
"Props are great and this week will be a chance to simmer the criticism"
How do you respond to critical fans that seemingly know everything there is to know about playing cornerback in the pros yet that couldn't hoist the weight of a pro jersey without falling down? Ignore the rabble and just have fun playing, you have plenty of fans behind you. I like that you have enough heart to respond to your critics anyway though, as misguided as they probably seem sometimes they just want to win so badly they can't help themselves. Kick some Indy tail!
By Big Brother From San Diego, CA
"Again Thanks for the support you guys are awesome."
Hey Q, just wanted to say that was a great game you had, even though the fans critize you for everything that is wrong with the secondary. I've backed you up all season long and will continue to do so as long as you're a Bolt. Good luck next Week and let's Win Out all the way to a Super Bowl Win!
By Roman From San Diego, CA
"Thanks Roman I really do appriciate the love man"
You are a hard physical player, but lets face it you dont have the speed to catch those speedy WR. Did you try changing to safety. After all the chargers could use a hard hitting Rodney Harrisson type hitter.
By frankie From miami, FL
"You or no one else has seen a wr run by me without me being in position to make a play. Honestly I have'nt picked passes but I have won some and lost some battles and these wr are some of the best athletes in the world who also get paid. So, lets not get it twisted I can run with these guys, I just need to move from making plays to making huge plays such as my bro Nathan Vasher has been doing"
Quentin- Keep up the good work! You're a true shutdown corner! You need safety help!
By Jeff From San Diego,
"Thanks for the support Jeff a lot of people don't realize that wr's are paid to beat me also and us corners are at a disadvantage. And, we don't get beat as often as a fan thinks."
Quentin, I am a SDUT sports forum member and thought I would pose this question to you. Given your skills as a hard hitting player, do you think you are possibly better suited at Safety than at the Corner position? I think you could really be another Rodney Harrison at that position. Have you ever played that position before in your career? By the way, I thought you played outstanding in the Miami game, but I can't say that everyone played to your level.
By Greg Kooyman From City of Industry, CA
"I think I would be great at safety as well as corner. I can run and I am as physical and tough as anyone in this league. I think those skills will allow me to excel at either position, but for now I am a corner maybe later in my career I can be a head hunting safety as I was at Texas my second year. Thanks Greg"
Q.J., I'm from SD originally and a massive Charger fan. For the remaining 3 games, what do you think will be the major forcus of the secondary for each game starting with Indy? Thanks.
By Marcus From Washington, DC
"The focus now is to keep Peyton flustered in the pocket because as long as he is comfortable he will pick you apart. My job this week is Marvin Harrison who in my opinion is the best wr in the league(tied with Chad Johnson and Steve Smith). This is a big challeng for me and one I look forward to. It will be the matchup of the year and I am excited."
I read some of your replys on the forum and you crack me up. The amazing thing to me is no one seems to realize that very few passes get thrown your way the ultimate sign of success for a CB. In my book, you have had a very, very good season. My question is what do you think of Michael Huff at UT
By Scott From Salt Lake City, UT
"I think that Huff is an excellent talent at safety or corner. He won the thorpe as a safety and probably could have won it had he been a corner. Thanks Scott the support is very uplifting from all of you guys"
Quentin, I'm a big fan. You're the best corner on the team, and in the top 5 in the league. But the secondary overall has had problems. My question is why do you start 10 yards off the reciever? Is this part of the scheme, or are you just that confident in your closing speed? You have Indy this week, you need to disrupt their timing by Jamming them at the line. Thanks, Scott
By Scott From Merced, CA
"Its part of the scheme if I am off it's usually some sort of Thirds coverage but I press bail so it won't always be that obvious. It is the only time where I play off at 10 yards. Jamming is what I do best and thats what we will do."
hello quentin, before anything i wanted to say, that as a longtime chargers fan, i'm happy you're in there for us. so keep your chin up 'cause getting burnt (from time to time) is the nature of the position you play. still, i have a million questions, so here are a few: -as a corner you would be one of the best people to assess the progress of our qbs. how do you think rivers is progressing? as fans we're pretty much in the dark here, since he never sees the field on sundays. -as you've said in your other answers; fans, espcially the ones who watch the games on tv, dont really understand the coverages and the assignments that go with them. but it appears to my layman's eyes that middle of the field is where we get burnt deep. coincidentally thats an area where p.manning and indi offense thrive in. any thought going into this for the coming week? -not saying that you dont play your position well; but have you ever thought of playing ss? (assuming its for the same money of course!) i thank you in advance for your time and consideration. best of luck! cam
By cam From toronto,
"Quarterback is a tough position so it takes time to progress into a good one. Phillip is a good one who when given the chance will be a great one as Brees has steadily become. We will be a little more physical vs the indy rec's and pressure Peyton as we did last year. We will just tackle the kick returner this time to keep the momentum from shifting. But indy has a great team and we look forward to this game. The Miami loss has us more hungry. And I have'nt thought about playing ss, maybe later."
Howdy Quentin, First, thanks for hanging in there and playing one of the toughest positons in all of pro sports. In watching the past few games, I noticed how much "improved" the play of the secondary was when Coach Wade put in more aggressive packages. Given the young talented players that are starting to hit stride, do you think (hope) we will see more of this. Take Care, Rick
By Rick D From Bend, OR
"Yes we will be more aggressive especially this week!"
Hello Quentin, First off, go get them in Indy we are behind you, YOU WILL MAKE THE PLAYOFFS, BELIEVE, JUST BELIEVE!!!!, you guys have too much heart not to make it, this has been a very fun season we as fans thank you for the awesome games you have provided to us. Quentin, when you guys play cover 2, is this specifically only zone coverages or is there a version where you can go man to man on the cover 2, which one do you think fits better your style of play?
By Adolfo From Phoenix, AZ
"There are two versions of cov 2. The first, two deep safeties with crners dropping in the flat. The other is 2man with two deep safeties with corners playing man, undercutting the wr's routes. Personally I like 2man because it allows me to do what I do best and play man."
Hi Quentin, I know you get a lot of dirt thrown your way by the fans. I think you're doing a good job, especially on the slant play in the endzone last Sunday. It was great how you swatted that ball away at the last minute. ...and that forced fumble was a thing of beauty.
By Eldwin From San Diego, CA
"Thanks Edwin you will see more of that on Sunday"
Quentin, I don't care what others think about the job you are doing. I think you are one of the best corners in the league. No pass rush, the corners get blamed. Is there any possibility they move you to safety? That way you are the best DB in the league, and you can hammer people! Thanks
By rob griffiths From london,
"I don't think they will move me yet but I will tell you what I will hammer people these last three games and cover the heck out of them."
Hello, my question is: On a scale of 1-10, how would you rate the performance of the secondary? What specific things can the secondary do to improve? Also, what is your take on the rumors that you would like to play safety? Great job, I think you have really stepped it up this season!
By Nolan From San Diego, CA
"I think we started at a 6 Moved into an 8.5 and last week regressed back to a 6. We just have to cut out the mental errors such as biting on playaction or not playing the right huddle call. I will not be a safety soon but I will not say I won't ever play the position."
QJ, I know alot of people are down on the secondary, but my question to you is what does the secondary as a whole try to do to improve for each and every game? just wanted to add you guys have gotten better with each game keep it up
By Eddie From national city, CA
"We have up and down games, sometimes we make to many mistakes sometimes we cover and the quarterback makes a play. We improve every week but the guys we play do also so it gets harder with each week. Seriously though mental mistakes can kill you as we saw in the Miami game."
Q, I have been critical of your play in the past, but I also understand that you play the toughest position in the NFL and that you do your best. You are right to criticize the fans that don't have a clue about certain defenses you play during different situations. You have to remember that we don't care what zone your in, our what your responsibility is during a particular play, we just want results. Results for you have not been very impressive considering how high you were drafted, and the bottom line for a CB is interceptions and passes defended to which you can do better. Continue playing your heart out, and maybe one might fall into your arms in the final three games. We are critical because you are supposed to be our best CB and although you play well most of the time, it's the times you get beat and the picks you don't make that we remember.
By Hector Galarza From Whittier, CA
"You are very right I have dropped ints and made mistakes I will be the first to admit it. But sometimes the coverage we play puts you in a situation where you depend on your teammate to make a play and just because I am in the vicinity does not mean I should make the play. I would love to make them all and in the miami game in cov 2 I tried to make that one on the 56 yard pass. I just want the fans to know that. Even if I am not in a position to make a play I am trying to get picks and cause fumbles but its dictated by things other than effort. But I will elevate my game to an even higher level because the chip on my shoulder now is'nt a chip anymore it's a boulder!!!!"
hey quentin i am thinking and i don't know do you know who the chargers will get out of the 06 draft??? e mail me back. oh cool site i like it i did not know you had a site yeah.
By Jess From meridian, MS
"Probably a stud O lineman with their first pick"
Hey Quentin you are so cool you are my favorite Player on the chargers i think your stats are incredible honestly i think the fans should give a little more credit to the defensemen also not to be baggin on LaDanian but I personally think you are better and how did you get interested in FootBall? Keep up the Good Work peace Out - Bambol Abrajano
By Bambol Abrajano From San Diego, CA
"Football was somewhere to relieve the pressures of life such as school work, girl troubles and other thing young people might get angry at. Football allows you to hit people and be violent within the rules, it allows you to take out your agression on another team, and it became very fun to play."
I am trying to stay positive here. What do you think you can work on so you are not getting owned by the WR's? I heard a stat last night driving home from the game that there is not a starting CB with an interception. I am just saying you need to step it up. I would be worried about job security. Kaeding could do a better job than you.
By Brad From Dana Point, CA
"No this is not being positive and the only reason I would reply to something as stupid as this is because my fans need to here the good and bad of Quentin Jammer. This segment is here for you all to get to know me. I don't get owned as much as I own other Wr's. Yes I give up an occasional catch but most of the time my coverage it too tight for the quarterback to even throw the ball. One thing I am not worried about is job security because God will take care of that just as with people like you who continually bash people but know squat about what we do as football players. So, to all my fans I love you guys and God bless. And may God bless you and the rest of the haters Brad if thats your real name."
Hey Quentin, I know that no one likes to be criticized but lets be honest, you got torched by a Quarterback who is lucky to still be in the league. I know you have the skills as i watched you in Texas and you were great, my boys and i were excited that the Chargers drafted you. But after yesterdays performance adding to another unimpressive year for the charger secondary I have to ask the same question.........WHAT IS GOING ON! Miami?
By Tyler From SJC, CA
"Well if I were honest about it I would sound as if I was pointing the finger and that is not the type of player I am. But on the bomb we were in cover 2 and I did my best to help the safety. But you are right the secondary did not play well. And criticism is something I can take from a coach but not fans because they only know the result of the play. Coverages that we are in at the start of the play are something totally overlooked by you guys. We as corners can only do what we are coached to do in certain coverages. Teams design plays to be those coverages and if you sit in those coverages you will give up some plays."
How come you have no interceptions this year? Do you think you are a big reason why the Chargers are loosing this year?
By Brad From Dana Point, CA
"I dropped a few.Do you? And we actually have a winning record If you have no positive and real questions I would appreciate it if you posted elsewhere like a forum."
yo champ. Keep up the good work, im loving seeing the chargers win, have a good game tomoz. Lets see chambers go from hero to zero haha. but ya if u finish the season with 5 INTs ill fly over and watch you guys play unless you wanna pay for me that would be a big help haha and also what is your 40 time? keep it real peace out from aus

Hey Quinton, I went to school with you and your wife and I ended up getting married to Elliott Thomas. I was his girlfriend through all of high school. I was just surfing the net and I came across your page and I just want to say that we are very proud of you and all your achievements and Elliott says hi
By shauntae jackson From washington, DC
"Hey Shauntae I remember you thanks for the support and tell cuz I said whats up"
Quentin, My little brother is a huge fan of yours. His name is Will, but his nickname is Will Jam... and is most often called 'Jammer'. Naturally, he enjoys watching you play and would love his own 'Jammer' jersey. Do you have any suggestions on where to find youth-sized jerseys with your name and number or any other Jammer memorabilia? I would love to hook him up for Christmas! Many Thanks, Francie
By Francie From Orlando, FL
"They should have them at the charger store at qualcomm if not try ordering it on the charger online store. If they do not have them get back to me and I will try and find it."
How can I get a picture of you, to you, taken at the Buffalo Game a week ago? I have a picture of you, running down Eric King of the Bills, and almost got run over as you two were running out of bounds. The intensity in your face and veins in your arms in amazing in this picture. I have a web-sized version here: http://www.dpchallenge.com/image.php?IMAGE_ID=261042 Regards, Brad Petersen

Are you guys wearing that Hydromax system? Think it is very revolutionary and will be the next big thing nationally and internat'l. Those guys are gonna be billionaires. Why aren't all of the players wearing it? Its awesome, wanna get one for my foster son.
By Qadree Billingsley From Louisville, KY
"Yes I do wear it and I think once it hits the market there will be a number of other guys will be wearing it. They are still working on producing it and introducing it to the market but look for it in the next couple of months"
You suck a lot. How do you have your own website?
By Georgia From Georgia, GA
"Wow you put tons of thought into this post. You must be the smartest guy in the first grade. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"
Hi Quentin, The rest of the season is going to go great and you are going to get a lot of picks or create fumbles with your hits. . Personally, I think the rule changes don't complement your style of play (very physical) but it looks like you are adjusting quite nicely. You've probably already been asked this question but, what are you plans after your football career is over?
By Brian H. From San Diego, CA
"Well right now I am starting to get into real estate and I have teamed with Sammy Davis, Chris Spencer, and Carl Henderson to help with the Hydromax sytem and other developments. Check out the hydromax at www.hydromaxsystem.com. It will be huge for the game of football."
Hey Quentin, Hows it going. I just wanted to say i am a big chargers fan and a big fan of yours. I also wanted to ask how much sucess you guys will have this year and wht did you think of Nathan Vashers return. Good luck this year! Bye
By Dustin Erickson From Winslow, IL
"Well, our success depends on how bad we want to make the playoffs and we REALLY want to be back there. We thought Nates return was awesome he has been great all year and last year so hopefully he will be rewarded for that at the end of the season."
Quentin- Do you ever go back to your old High School in Angleton? And if you do who are the people you try to run into? I went to Angleton High also, I was one year ahead of your class. Whenever you get a chance hit me back with a n e-mail if you can. Good luck on the season and congratulations on everything! I really thought you would of been playing in the NBA instead of the NFL from back in our High School days. Holla Back!!!!!!
By Shawn Blackman From Reseda, CA
"Whats happening Shawn, What have you been up to. I get back to Angleton a lot in the off season to be with family. I don't know if you remember my best friend Eric Davis, but I hang out with him whenever he's not working. Get me your email address and I will get up with you."
Quentin I wanted to say GREAT JOB this Sunday against the Jets this one really came to the wire.... Thanks to you the SAN DIEGO CHARGERS go into the bye 5 &4... Keep being the great PLAYMAKER that you are .... I'll see you in the PRO BOWL
By Jonny From Fallbrook, CA
"Thank for you encouragement and support Jonny!!!!"
How often do you come back to Texas? And when you come do you just go to the football games or do you hang around for a couple of days? Do you get to talk to any of the players you played with in college? Hopefully this years team can make it to the National Championship. I have been waiting for this my whole life. Good luck with the Chargers, hope you and Vasher and all the other Texas players break many records in the NFL. Go Longhorns!! #1
By Derek Neil From Austin, TX
"I get back pretty often in the offseason and usually I hang out with family and friends. Nate and I talk all the time he is my other little brother and Texas will win the rose bowl. This time for all the marbles though."
hey quentin. i really am proud of your awsome coverage against the jets on 4th down. out of all the frustration that you have brought. that really makes up for it. (not as much frustration as recche caldwell gives us) it's all good though. when will more plays like that happen?
By Doug From san diego, CA
"This was a great confidence builder because on the entire series I played man with no safety help so you can expect more bigger plays in the second half of the season"
Quentin, i am a huge fan, i think your by far one of the best in the game right now. As a curent college player what did u do in school to prepare yourself for the NFL, training wise?
By Frankie Muir From Pittsburgh, PA
"Well, I did not put in alot of time worrying about whether or not I would make it to the nfl or how high I would be drafted. I just practiced and played every game in college as if it were my last because in football any game could be your last. People who worry like that have a higher chance of getting injured. So, my advice to you would be not to worry about the the little things just go out and have fun. Training wise squats, bench, and power cleans were a regular. Tons of core work which is strengthening your abs, and running sprints."
How did you feel when you and Alicia found out you were going to have a baby. I know when Doris told me I was very excited. I have 2 little boys and I know I was very excited. Sorry this isn't a football question.
By Cameron Adams From Sweeny, TX
"I was nervous at first but now I am so excited I think I am becoming annoying to my wife!! But she won't say I am though."
What do you think your best accomplishment has been as a professional football player, so far, and what do hope to accomplish this season
By Steve From Pflugerville, TX
"I think my greatest accomplishment will come this year. Hopefully we will win a superbowl which is a pretty lofty goal. But, this year I figure that if I reach my personal goal of making the pro bowl the rest of the secondary will follow and we will become an elite defense in the mold of the ravens. That will be my biggest accomplishment."
I heard you and your beautiful wife went to Destiny's Child Concert the other night. How was it?
By Jeff From Walnut Creek, CA
"The concert was awesome but if we could have had Sammy Davis backstage to meet Beyonce I think I would have been his hero."
Why are you 87 overall in Madden when you should be atleast 95? What is the your favorite part of playing at University of Texas?
By Brandon Lintner From Little Egg Harbor, NJ
"Thank you! My awareness and hands are not up to par but you can count on that changing on the next Madden because I plan to have a huge year. My favorite part of playing at Texas was the tradition of playing at a school notorious for greatness!"
Quentin, In order to achieve such greatness obviousely work ethic had to be a major roll in your success, however what continues to drive you to achieve more speacially when you don't feel like working or doing anything? And what do you recommend to kids that continue to fail other than the typical don't give up...? Best of Luck this season, Jonny from Fallbrook
By Jonny From Fallbrook, CA
"The thing that drives me is the will to be the best at what I do. Granted I have had stumbles and have failed at times but it is in those stumbles that drive me to work harder. Right now there are about 5 elite corners in this league and a group of good corners. It is in this group that I fall and I dont want to be in the elite group, my drive is to be atop this group. So to those kids that fail I will tell them to use the failures to drive them to greatness because it is in those failures that you realize why you failed and now you can correct those mistakes that caused the failures. I have realized my mistakes and this is the year that I achieve what I set out to do which is be the best at what I do."
How many times are you going to be on Jacked Up this season??? How many catches are Randy Moss, & T.O. going to have against you??
By CJ From Angelton, TX
"More than once for sure. The question that you should have asked is how many picks will I get against the both of them."
